Burnham-On-Sea
hovercraft charity benefits from supermarket donation
Staff
at Asda in Highbridge have this week handed over a donation of
£400 to BARB, the Burnham-On-Sea charity behind the town's
two rescue hovercrafts.
The
store's manager, David Simcox, said he was particularly keen to
support the charity: "BARB
is an integral part of the community, providing a life-saving
service for the people of Highbridge and beyond. Colleagues at
ASDA Highbridge are keen to continue building a relationship with
BARB and are eager to lend a hand with future fundraising projects."
BARB
Chairman Mark Newman thanked the store for its support and added:
"We are very grateful for this generous donation. The sum
will be put towards maintaining our two hovercrafts and further
training for our crewmembers."
