Malcolm and Audrey Symes of Shepton Mallett (pictured right) gave the donation after dropping in at Burnham's hovercraft station on Sunday August 22. Malcolm said: "We have been involved with lifeboats and lifesaving for many years now and believe they all do such a superb job. We're glad to help in any way we can." They were given a tour of the hovercraft station on the seafront and crew members gave them a look around the craft itself.

Burnham-On-Sea's
hovercraft crew have given a substantial cash donation towards the upkeep
of the service.
Meanwhile, a bric-a-brac sale held on Burnham-On-Sea's esplanade on
both Saturday and Sunday also helped to boost funds for the hovercraft.
Almost £300 was raised from the two-day sale.
