Burnham-On-Sea hovercraft to hold beach safety awareness day

Beach users will be able to find out about how to keep themselves safe during a special beach safety awareness event being held in Burnham-on-Sea this weekend.

BARB, the charity that runs Burnham's two rescue hovercrafts, will be holding a Beach Safety Awareness Day at its station on the town’s seafront on Sunday May 27th from 11am to 3pm.

“Visitors will be able to pick up safety advice leaflets, discuss safety with our crew, and also learn more about the work of the hovercraft group,” said BARB Chairman Mark Newman.

"The May Bank Holiday weekend is often a busy one for Somerset's marine emergency services - but we hope to make it safer and quieter this year."
