Bikers
roar into town for Burnham-On-Sea hovercraft charity
Almost
70 motorcyclists roared into Burnham-On-Sea on Sunday (September
14th) to take part in a fundraising bike ride for BARB, the charity
that runs the town's two life-saving rescue hovercrafts.
Dozens
of cyclists from across the region took part in the 60 mile ride,
which began at the Bristol Bridge Inn in Highbridge at 10am and
finished at BARB's hovercraft station on Burnham seafront at 3pm,

The
bikes, which included mopeds, vintage wartime machines and the
latest superbikes, were then on show to the public.
Organiser
Norman Templeman, who is a member of BARB's crew, said: "We
were delighted with the turnout and are grateful for all the generous
support, which generated over £380 for BARB."
He
added that a second
event is already being planned for next spring.
