Burnham-On-Sea
hovercraft and Secret World receive funding boosts
Two
Burnham-On-Sea charities have received a financial boost from
a group of bingo players.
The Burnham Social Bingo group, which meets regularly at the Ritz
Social Club, presented £545 to BARB and a similar amount
to local wildlife charity Secret World, following a year of fundraising
events.
Christine
Clayton, one of the group's organisers, presented cheques to David
Bailey from BARB and Simon Kidner from Secret World, and said:
"We wanted to give the money to two good local causes and
what better charities are there than BARB and Secret World. Both
do wonderful work across the Burnham area."
BARB,
the charity that runs Burnham's two life-saving hovercrafts, is
funded entirely by donations and is run by unpaid volunteers.
