Caravan
Club donates £1,400 to Burnham-On-Sea hovercraft charity
The
Caravan Club of Great Britain has handed over a donation of almost
£1,400 to the Burnham-On-Sea charity that runs the town's
two life-saving hovercrafts.
BARB's secretary, Roger Flower, received a cheque for £1,395.23
from David Palmer, Chairman of the Somerset branch of the Caravan
Club for Great Britain, during a presentation at Hugh Sexey's
School in Blackford.
The
donation follows a successful fundraising caravan rally, which
was held earlier this year in Frome.
"We
are very grateful for this generous donation," said Roger.
"The funds will help towards the costs of training our volunteer
crew and maintaining our two hovercrafts."
BARB,
the Burnham Area Rescue Boat, is a 16-year-old charity funded
entirely by donations. It operates the life-saving Spirit Of Lelaina
and Light Of Elizabeth hovercrafts.
