Yee haw! Country and Western fundraiser raises funds for hovercraft
Burnham
Hovercraft crew members visited the Flaming Jae's pub at Brean to receive
a bumper cheque for £2,761.18.
The
money was raised for the Burnham hovercraft during a fantastic week
of fundraising by the pub and its hundreds of country and western customers,
who flock to the village for their annual country and western festival.
Alan Miller, chairman of BARB, said: "This is amazing. To raise
that sort of money in just five days is an incredible feat."
"We
are extremely grateful for the generosity of the 'Country and Westerners',
and the hard work that the orgnaisers Barbara Newman, Steve Ford and
all the others have put in to raise this vital cash for us."

Newman (who organised the fundraising for the week) with Country and
Western enthusiasts who helped to raise the money.
