Burnham-On-Sea
hovercraft charity appeals for new helpers and crew
BARB,
the charity that runs Burnham-On-Sea's life-saving hovercrafts
and an inshore rescue boat, is to hold an open day for new shorehelpers,
crewmembers and fundraisers this Sunday (February 15th).
The
charity is appealing for new volunteers to come forward to help
with all aspects of the busy rescue organisation and
full training is available.
Mark
Newman, BARB's Chairman, said: "We are expecting another
busy year and would like to hear from as many people from the
Burnham area as possible. So whether you're 18 or 60, feel free
to come along to Sunday's open day."
The
event will be held at the hovercraft station, situated next to
the tourist information centre on Burnham seafront, this Sunday
between 10am-3pm. Visitors are also welcome at BARB's training
evenings any Wednesday between 7.30pm and 9pm.
