Diamond
Farm fundraisers raise £1,700 for Burnham hovercraft

A
fancy dress competition at a Brean caravan park raised fun and
funds for Burnham-On-Sea's Spirit Of Lelaina hovercraft.
Scores
of holidaymakers staying at Diamond Farm dressed up in colourful
costumes on Saturday (August 5th) to boost the amount raised by
the park so far this year for BARB - the charity that runs the
hovercraft - to a massive £1,700.
Fun-loving
children, their families and even a few of their pets joined in
the fancy dress contest, with costumes ranging from a policewoman's
outfit to a bingo caller!
Prizes
were presented to the best entries by hovercraft crew members
Roger Flower and Andy Croker.
Diamond
Farm has been holding a series of fundraising events this year
in aid of BARB with earlier events including an Easter bonnets
parade, auctions, raffles, car boot sales and sponsored walks.
Organiser
Pam Clark said: "The hovercraft is a very special service
that does such good work that we wanted to help. We've had great
support for our fundraising events and thank everyone who's helped
so far."
The
Burnham hovercraft has helped and rescued more than 90 people
during the last two years and all money donated to BARB is directly
put back into training its crew and maintaining the craft.
