Burnham
hovercraft group benefits from fundraising fun day
A
day of fun at a Brean caravan park raised several hundred pounds
for Burnham-On-Sea's hovercraft.
Old-fashioned
games and a children's sponsored walk were held at Diamond Farm,
raising more than £900 for BARB, the charity that runs the
Burnham hovercraft.
"The
traditonal games included roll-a-penny, wack-a-rat and pluck-a-duck
and proved very popular indeed," said organiser Pam Johnson.
"We
also had a very successful tombola and auction - and everyone
had a great time. In fact, everyone was so generous that the auction
went on a lot longer than expected!"
Diamond
Farm is holding a series of fundraising events in aid of BARB
this summer. The next will be a fancy dress competition on August
5th at 2pm.
