Brean's
Diamond Farm hands over funds for Burnham-On-Sea hovercraft

A
busy summer of fundraising at a Brean caravan park has raised
a bumper £2,700 for Burnham-On-Sea's rescue hovercraft charity.
Dozens
of holidaymakers at Diamond Farm took part in a series of events,
ranging from head shaves and auctions to dog shows, raffles and
car boot sales, to raise a total of £2,700 for BARB, the
organisation that runs Burnham's two life-saving rescue hovercrafts.
Diamond
Farm's Fundraising Committee handed over the bumper-sized cheque
to grateful crew members at the weekend, as pictured here.
A
Diamond Farm spokeswoman said: "The hovercraft is such an
essential service in this area that we wanted to help. We've
had great support for all our events throughout the holiday season,
and thank everyone who helped."
BARB
Chairman Mark Newman thanked the group for their generosity, adding:
"We're very grateful to Diamond Farm for their continuing
support of BARB and thank them and all the holidymakers who took
part in their fundraising activities over the summer."
"All
the money raised will go towards training our crew and maintaining
our equipment."
A
second cheque is due to be presented to BARB by the Diamond Farm
pubraisers next month.
