Burnham hovercraft charity receives £600 donation from Bristol society

Generous members of the Oddfellows Society have donated hundreds of pounds to the Burnham-On-Sea charity that runs two rescue hovercrafts.

Sandra Harding, Provincial Grandmaster of the Bristol District Oddfellows Society, and John Harding, who is Deputy Grandmaster, handed over a cheque for £600 to BARB on Wednesday evening.

The money has been raised by the group throughout the past year at various social functions.

BARB Chairman Mark Newman, Hovercraft Operations Manager Pete Emery and Deputy Operations Manager Dave Bailey are pictured receiving the cheque from Sandra and John Harding in front of the Spirit Of Lelaina hovercraft.

The Oddfellows Society is a not-for-profit friendly society with a network of local branches offering social activity and support. It caters for 100,000 members nationwide and aims to encourage friendship and community spirit.
