Brean family makes donation to Burnham-On-Sea hovercraft group

Rose Gibbins and her son Mark have given a donation to the Burnham hovercraft group Burnham's hovercraft group has received a substantial donation from a Brean family.

Rose Gibbins and her son Mark (pictured) were given a full tour of the hovercraft station on Saturday April 23 and shown around the hovercraft itself by crew members.

The pair decided to give a significant sum to BARB, the group that runs the Burnham hovercraft, following the death of Rose's husband, Keith, from cancer.

She said Keith had been very keen to support the hovercraft in an effort to avoid further tragedies like the tragic death of Lelaina Hall occurring.

Mark added: "He was in the Navy for many years on an aircraft carrier and so had a real love for the sea. When he heard about Lelaina's death it stuck in his mind and he said he wanted to help in some way. That's why we've fulfilled his wish and made a donation to the hovercraft group today."
