A simulated sea rescue will be performed in Bridgwater Bay to show the dangers of venturing out into fast flowing tidal estuaries and six other demonstrations with the hovercraft, micro lights, paramedics and Coastguards will be held throughout the day.

ESCAPE - Emergency Services Community Awareness and Promotion EventBARB, the group that operates Burnham's rescue hovercraft, is organising the event, having successfully launched it in 2004.

"This year's event is even bigger than last year - we have more rescue services involved, more crew members, and the event is being given extra space along the seafront," said press officer Mark Newman.
