Beach
anglers reel in £1,000 for
Burnham-On-Sea hovercraft group

Over
sixty anglers have reeled in a bumper £1,000 for Burnham-On-Sea's
hovercraft rescue group during a beach fishing competition in
the town.
The
money was handed over this week following the successful competition
on Burnham beach earlier this month.
A total of £1,092 has been handed over to BARB, the charity
that runs the town's two life-saving rescue hovercrafts.
"The
66 anglers enjoyed good weather for the event although the catches
were few and far between," said Steve Moore, one of the organisers
from Weston Outcasts Sea Angling Club.
BARB
spokesman Mark Newman said: "We're very grateful to the group
for raising such a huge amount. This money will help towards the
ongoing costs of maintaining our two craft and training our crew."
