Hovercraft is a hit at Burnham-On-Sea kindergarten's open day

Scores of children took the opportunity to see Burnham-on-Sea’s Light Of Elizabeth hovercraft up close when it went on display at a school open day in the town.

BARB, the charity that runs Burnham's rescue hovercrafts, was invited to bring the craft to Southleigh Kindergarten’s 40th anniversary open day, which was attended by more than 140 people.

A BARB spokesman said: "The hovercraft proved very popular – and several of our crew were on hand to give beach safety advice and explain how hovercrafts work. It was a very successful and enjoyable afternoon."

Our photo shows Sophie Hodges, 10, and Colette Adams, 10, onboard the Light Of Elizabeth hovercraft during the Southleigh Kindergarten Open Day.
