The BARB group wants a mechanic to assist with maintenance of the hovercraft, a 4x4 towing vehicle and a tractor at the Burnham station. Alan Miller, BARB hovercraft chairman, said: "The person needs to be able to work on petrol and diesel engines, preferably as a volunteer, for approximately 2-3 hours each month." The BARB Rescue Hovercraft group has a 2 litre engine on its Challenger Mitsubishi towing vehicle, a 1.8 litre Honda Rover engine on the rescue hovercraft, plus a Briggs Stratton 20 horse power engine.
