Adult
Learning Centre organises hovercraft quiz night
Pupils from Burnham-On-Sea's Adult Learning Centre are to hold
a fundraising pub quiz in aid of the charity that runs the town's
two rescue hovercrafts.
The event will be held on Tuesday January 27th at The Reed's Arms
on Burnham seafront starting at 7.30pm and is being organised
by the group as part of their team coursework.
"The
event will be open to everyone - you just turn up on the night.
We hope to raise a good sum for BARB, which is an excellent local
charity," said co-organiser Jane Biggs, who visited the hovercraft
station this week to see one of the charity's crew training nights.
"Tickets
will cost just £1 per person and groups will be a maximum
size of four. There will also be a fundraising raffle, which has
been well supported by businesses across Burnham."
BARB,
the charity that runs Burnham's two life-saving hovercrafts and
an inshore rescue boat, is funded entirely by donations and is
run by unpaid volunteers.
