The craft's fibreglass bottom has been replaced to make it even more resilient to the Bristol Channel's mud and sand. A spokesman
from BARB, the group which runs the hovercraft, said: "We have
a constant ongoing programme of work underway to maintain the craft

walking past Burnham's hovercraft station were given an unusual view
of the rescue craft this week when it was perched on its side to allow
crew and engineers to work on it.
