of trapped van being pulled from the sea at Burnham-On-Sea
Burnham-On-Sea's
hovercraft crew came to the rescue of four jet skiers whose van
had become stranded in the sea on Sunday, April 16th.
Crowds
of holidaymakers lined the seafront to watch after the Volkswagen
van's wheels became stuck in mud when its owners tried to load
two jet skis onboard. The vehicle quickly became engulfed by the
fast-incoming tide and despite several minutes struggling in the
waves, the owners were unable to move it before the town's hovercraft
rescue crew pulled it free.
