Burnham-On-Sea
hovercraft crew rescues stranded tractor from mud

Burnham-On-Sea's
Spirit Of Lelaina hovercraft team were called into action on Sunday
April 29th when a tractor became trapped in treacherous mud near
to the town's jetty.
BARB,
the charity that runs the life-saving hovercraft, received an
urgent call from Burnham Boat Owners Association after their tractor
got into difficulties while attempting to pull a boat out of the
sea water.
BARB's
Chairman, Mark Newman, said: "BARB's
own tractor was quickly deployed and, using a combination of winches
and ropes, we managed the stranded vehicle free. With the tide
starting to come in at the time, a fast response had been essential."
