Stranded
vehicle pulled free on Burnham-On-Sea beach

A
stranded vehicle had to be pulled free after it became trapped
in soft sand on Burnham-On-Sea's beach on Saturday evening (May
12th).
Despite
the best efforts of onlookers (pictured right and below), the
Volvo S8 became stuck fast when its wheels sank into the deep
sand near the town's jetty.
BARB
- the charity that runs Burnham's rescue hovercrafts - was called
and two of its crew, Pete Charles and Steve Perks, managed to
pull the vehicle free using the group's tractor.
The
vehicle's grateful owners, Manika Marciniak and Marcin Marczak
from Fishponds in Bristol, who are due to get married on Monday,
said: "We hadn't seen any warning signs and assumed it was
safe to drive along the beach."
"We
hope the next 48 hours will go more smoothly for us!"
