'Worle-wind'
tour of hovercraft station for local scout group
A
group of scouts from Worle, near Weston-super-Mare, met some of
the crew members who run Burnham-On-Sea's rescue hovercraft during
a visit to the town.
A
group of a dozen children from Second Worle Scout Group were shown
around the hovercraft during a visit aimed at raising their awareness
of the dangers that lie along our coastline.
The
11 and 12 year-olds listended intently to the safety tips and
were interested to learn about the life-saving work of the hovercraft
team.
Michelle
Kendall, assistant scouter, said: "As a brand new scout group,
this was our first outing - and it proved to be a very interesting
one for us all. We hope to come back and raise money for the hovercraft
in the future."
