Burnham-On-Sea hovercraft goes on show at vehicle fair

Burnham-on-Sea’s Light Of Elizabeth hovercraft was among the attractions on show at a special vehicle fair near Cheddar on Sunday, May 20th.

BARB, the charity which operates two rescue hovercraft, was invited to the event at Shipham, which was attended by hundreds of people.

"Good weather, combined with an interesting range of vehicles, meant there was a steady flow of visitors throughout the day," said a BARB spokesman.

"There was also lots of interest in the hovercraft and the work of its crew."

Cheddar Valley Preservation Club, which organised the event, presented BARB with a donation and club members Brian Vervall, Mary Vervall and John Ivans are pictured alongside BARB's Steve Perks and Gary Jones.

Pictured at the top of the page are Harry Harding, 2, and Leon Kelly, 2, sitting on the Light Of Elizabeth hovercraft with BARB crew members Carol Anne Hatim, Gary Jones and Steve Perks in the background.
