Children
from St Joseph's School get a chance to see hovercraft up close

A
group of 60 children from St Josephs School in Burnham-on-Sea
were given a guided tour of the towns hovercraft station
on Wednesday morning (June 8).
Two
classes of children all aged between 6 and 8 years old
- met some of the crew and got an opportunity to see the Spirit
Of Lelaina hovercraft up close.
They
were given a full tour of the building and were very interested
to hear how the hovercraft works, said chairman Alan Miller
(who is pictured with the children above).
Over
half of the children had seen the hovercraft flying, and some
said theyd like to join us as crewmembers in the future.
It was great to see so much interest.
The
children were also given beach safety tips - when the dangers
of walking out into the mud were explained.
The
two classes also visited Burnham-On-Seas lifeboat station
later in the morning.
