Burnham hovercraft crew warns mud walkers about swimming

A group of a dozen swimmers seen wading out into Bridgwater Bay at low tide near Burnham's jetty was warned about the danger they were putting themselves in by BARB crew members.

A member of the public who spotted the group walking towards the water on Wednesday evening (June 6th) alerted crewmembers from BARB - the charity that runs two rescue hovercrafts - who were close by at the time on a training exercise.

Two senior BARB crew members - Pete Emery and Dave Bailey - advised the group about when swimming is safe on the beach.
