More than 20 members of The Matthew Society gathered at the Jury's Hotel in Bristol to hear Pete discuss the history of the hovercraft, explain how the organisation is funded and recount recent launches. Steve Isaac of The Matthew Society said: "Pete gave an excellent talk to the society. His talk was relaxed and very well informed with super photos projected onto a large screen with a commentary delivered with great enthusiasm and humour." He added: "A large number of our members voiced their approval after the meeting which is a sure sign of a good speaker and I understand other requests to hear Pete's talk may be expected!" The Matthew Society was formed to support the replica of John Cabot's 'Matthew' which resides in Bristol Docks near the SS Great Britain. The society's members gave a generous donation towards the upkeep of the Burnham hovercraft. RELATED LINKS:
