Burnham
film fans flock to first
UK screening of Kevin Costner movie

Film
fans flocked to Burnham-On-Sea's
Ritz Cinema on Sunday (October 8th) for the UK's first screening
of a new sea-rescue blockbuster shown in aid of the charity that
runs the towns rescue hovercraft.
Scores
of Kevin Costner fans attended the gala screening of The Guardian,
raising hundreds of pounds for BARB.
Afterwards,
a cheque for £500 was handed over to BARB President Neville
Jones and Chairman Alan Miller by the cinema's directors, Pat
and Beryl Scott, as the audience and cinema's staff watched on.
Mr
Jones thanked both Pat and Beryl for their "super support",
adding that all the funds would go towards the ongoing maintenance
of BARB's two hovercraft and training of its volunteer crew.
The
film is due to be released across the country on October 20th
by Buena Vista International (UK), but was screened especially
early at Burnham's Ritz Cinema by arrangement with the film's
distributor.
