Burnham's hovercraft group set to benefit from Kevin Costner movie

Burnham-on-Sea’s Ritz Cinema is to hold a special gala screening of a major new sea-rescue blockbuster called ‘The Guardian’ in aid of BARB, the charity that runs the town’s rescue hovercraft.

Starring Kevin Costner, the film is an exciting story of courage and selfless sacrifice set inside the world of America’s Coast Guard rescue swimmers. It follows Costner's career as an elite ‘rescue swimmer’ in the Coast Guard and training school.

The film is due to be released across the country on October 20th by Buena Vista International (UK), but will be screened especially early at Burnham's Ritz Cinema on Sunday 8th October at 10.30am.

Buena Vista International’s MD Robert Mitchell said: "We are delighted to be supporting the Burnham Area Rescue Boat as they provide the community with an invaluable service. We hope this event will be a very successful fundraising event."

A total of 110 tickets are available – priced £6 each – available direct from the Ritz Cinema in Victoria Street or by calling the box office on 01278 794123. 'The Guardian' is a certificate 12A film.
