Real Ale Festival drinkers toast Burnham-On-Sea hovercraft!

Burnham-On-Sea
hovercraft crew members have raised a glass to toast the organisers
of the Wedmore Real Ale Festival after they donated £750
to the group.
BARB,
the charity than runs the life-saving hovercraft, was one of several
local groups to benefit after beer lovers flocked to the popular
festival at the end of September.
A
spokesman for the event said: "It was wild and alcoholic
and raised £5,000 for local worthy causes! £2,000
went to Wedmore Village Hall, £1,000 to Children's Hospice
South West, £750 to the Burnham hovercraft, £750 to
the Dorset & Somerset Air Ambulance and £500 to Wedmore
Junior Cricket Club."
The
successful festival has raised £18,000 during the last four
years, with much of the money being donated back into the local
community.
Burnham-On-Sea
hovercraft press officer Mark Newman thanked the event's organisers
and said: "It was superb to see so many people enjoying themselves
while raising such a large amount of money for worthy local causes
like the hovercraft. We're very grateful to the organisers and
everyone who went along for their support."
