Burnham-On-Sea
estate agent to expand its High Street premises
A
Burnham-On-Sea estate agent is to expand its operations and move
into a vacant High Street gift shop later this month.
Berrymans
has bought what used to be the Little Brum gift shop - allowing
it to increase its shop frontage alongside its existing premises.
Berrymans
will use the extra space for the letting and rental side of its
business.
The
news comes as a welcome boost to Burnham's retail scene after
a spate of closures. The Little Brum gift shop closed in November
along with Crandon Computers, while both the nearby Blazing Saddles
gift shop and Bridgwater Communications also ceased trading in
the last quarter of 2005.
Berrymans
spokesman Gary Day told Burnham-On-Sea.com: "The gift shop
next door to us was previously part of our premises so we'll effectively
be returning the building to how it used to be. It will give us
much-needed extra space for our lettings operation."
"The
doorways are being knocked away and the premises being decorated.
We're awaiting for permission to change the use of the premises,
but if all goes well we plan to open it around the end of January."
