New reality TV series to be filmed on Berrow
beach
A
new reality TV series for satellite channel Living TV is to be
filmed on Berrow Beach next week, we can reveal.
TV
production company Shine Productions has picked our area to film
an episode of The Biggest Loser, a programme described
by its makers as "a weight-loss show where people attempt
to lose at least three stone."
The
spokesman added: "It's a bit like ITV's Fit Club,
but more fun and exciting."
The
episode will be filmed on Friday July 15th at Berrow from around
10am - and the show will be broadcast on Living TV during October
this year.
A red team and a blue team will compete on the beach by pulling
a traditional ice cream van, aiming to reach a
finish line with chequered flags, lines and cones as quickly as
possible.
A
US version of The Biggest Loser has already been shown
in America and was such a hit that a second series is being made.
Living TV hopes to repeat the success in the UK with its own spin-off
which will be a 10-episode series screened this autumn.
The
UK show is being produced by John Silver who was previously responsible
for popular TV series such as Jamie's Kitchen, Property Ladder,
Your Money or Your Life, Dinner Party Inspectors and Other
People's Houses.
