Cheeky
Burnham-On-Sea Christmas card raises smiles and charity cash!
A
Burnham-On-Sea hairdressing salon has been raising smiles and
money for charity with a daring Christmas card featuring its male
customers.
A
total of £1,800
has been raised from the sale of the cheeky cards, which show
eleven plucky customers at JSB Hair in Berrow Road.
Justine
Brown, owner of the salon, said she was keen to do do something
"attention-grabbing" to raise funds for charity this
year.
"We
wanted a Christmas card that was eye-catching and original without
being offensive," she told Burnham-On-Sea.com.
"We've
all seen the film Calendar Girls and this is our twist
on it! I invited 22 of our male customers to come along and although
just 11 turned up on the day, the card works well."
"It
was a light-hearted, fun atmosphere at the photo shoot and no-one
felt uncomfortable at all."
The
photo was taken by Bridgwater photographer Phillip Parsons and
the money raised is going to Frenchay After Burns Childrens Club
and Ehlers-Danlos Support Group.
The
cash came from both the sale of the cards and an annual charity
hair and fashion show held at the Webbington Hotel.
