Extra
Christmas cheer for Burnham-On-Sea's streets this year!

Burnham-On-Sea's
streets will have an extra dose of festive sparkle this Christmas
season thanks to the town's Chamber of Trade.
For
the first time in more than five years, extra wall-mounted lights
will be switched on along Victoria Street in addition to the 33
lights along Burnham's High Street.
Chamber
of Trade spokesman Alex Turco told Burnham-On-Sea.com that £1,000
is being spent on the brand new wall-mounted lights.
"They
will be attached to properties all along the street and will be
similar in style and colour to the ones we currently have,"
he said.
Burnham-On-Sea
Mayor Eric Gill is scheduled to switch on the lights in a ceremony
at 4.30pm on Saturday November 26th.
The
event will take place outside
the Somerset & Dorset Pub and will be preceded by entertainment
from 4pm.
Jugglers,
musicians and street entertainers will be on hand. And members
of local drama group Curtain Call will sing a range of carols
and festive songs.
Santa
Claus is also expected to drop in to hand out goodies to children
and onlookers.
