CJ Hole shuts Burnham-On-Sea branch, blaming
strong competition
A
well-known Burnham-On-Sea
estate agent has become a victim of the depressed property market
and been forced to close its branch.
CJ
Hole closed the doors of its Victoria Street premises (shown right)
this week and a spokeswoman told Burnham-On-Sea.com that all of
its customers' properties had been withdrawn or moved to other
agents.
She
added: "Our Burnham branch has sadly been forced to close
because of difficult trading conditions in the town."
"There's
too much competition with so many estate agents and the branch
just wasn't paying its way."
"But
CJ Hole as a company remains trading and the nearest branch to
Burnham is in Weston."
It
is understood that the lease of the premises was up for renewal
and the company felt it could not justify the cost.
Competition
among estate agents in Burnham and Highbridge is strong, with
six big companies chasing customers: Abbott
& Frost, Gary
Berryman, Hutchinson,
JH
Palmer, Michael Applegate and Saxons.
