Couple who got lost in Berrow dunes are found by Coastguard

Burnham-On-Sea Coastguard was called out at 22:30 hours on Thursday June 23 after a couple alerted police that they were lost in the sand dunes near to Berrow Church.

A full sweep of the dunes was carried out by the Coastguard team and the couple - both in their 30s and from Nailsea - were found 10-15 minutes later.

The lady was shaking with cold but was released after being checked over by a paramedic at the scene.

A Coastguard spokesman said the pair had become "disorientated" in the darkness of the dunes and dialled 999 to call for assistance.
