Trapped
car is freed from mud on Burnham-On-Sea beach
Coastguards
helped to free a car trapped in thick mud on Burnham's beach on
Sunday morning, April 9th.
A
white Audi became stuck near the town's paddling pool at 8am after
its occupants, who were Polish and visiting the area on holiday,
drove along the beach and encountered difficulties.
"They
had driven along from the jetty without realising this is not
permitted and that there is a dangerous mud," said Burnham
Coastguard officer Steve Bird.
He
added: "The two occupants - a man and woman - were both unharmed
but were concerned about their vehicle."
Using
a landrover, the town's Coastguard team managed to tow the vehicle
free. The photo on the right shows the tyre tracks of vehicles
left in the mud after the incident.
