Burnham-On-Sea
jet
skier injured in freak accident

An
injured jet skier was carried from the sea and rushed to hospital
after a freak accident
near Burnham jetty on
Saturday evening (August 25th).
Lifeguards
were joined by two ambulances and a team of Coastguards at 5.40pm
when the 45-year-old, from Burnham, was injured after being thrown
from his machine.
Friend
and fellow jet skier Ryan Jones told Burnham-On-Sea.com: "The
throttle on his water ski seemed to jam open and when he hit a
wave, the machine flipped over. I think he's badly injured his
left leg."
Eyewitness
Sandra Wakefield added: "The machine hit a wave at high speed,
then went up into the air and came down with a bump with the skier
still onboard."
Burnham's
Jetty Manager alerted paramedics and Coastguards to the accident,
and both were quickly on scene.
