Distressed
teenager coaxed to safety by Coastguards and RNLI crew
These
were the scenes on Burnham-On-Sea's jetty during the early hours
of Wednesday (February 11th) after a teenager was spotted in the
sea in a distressed state.
Coastguards,
police and RNLI crews were called to the jetty at 12.40am, where
the 18 year-old man was seen in the freezing waters of Bridgwater
Bay in an agitated state.
Police
and Coastguard officers managed to coax the man back to the safety
of the jetty at 1.25am with the help of the lifeboat crew with
the RNLI Puffin lifeboat.
Paramedics
treated the man at the scene and he was taken away in an ambulance
for further attention.
