Burnham-On-Sea Coastguards called out amid concern for missing man

Coastguards were called out in the early hours of Friday (July 27th) to hunt for a missing person in Burnham-On-Sea.

The 22-year-old man had not returned home by 4.30am, so a friend dialled 999 to alert Coastguards.

Teams from Burnham and Weston joined in a search of the town's beach, and the man, who was believed to have been intoxicated, was found in the town safe and well.

Weston Coastguards were called in to help to assist Burnham Coastguards, who had just returned to the town after undertaking several days' flood relief work in Gloucestershire.
