Coastguards put on alert after 'motorcyclist seen in Brean quick
sands'
Coastguards
from Burnham were called to Brean on Thursday amid concern that
a motorcyclist had gone missing in an area of quick sands.
A
walker in the resort had contacted Taunton Police after claiming
to have spotted the biker heading out towards the sea, getting
off his vehicle and then not being seen again.
Coastguards
rushed to the scene at 12.20pm and the Spirit Of Lelaina hovercraft
was put on standby in Burnham at 12.24pm.
But
despite a full search of the area by Coastguards, nothing was
found and the search was called off just after 1pm.
Coastguards
returned to the town along the beach, as shown in our photo.
