Seafront
renovation project gets underway in Burnham-On-Sea

A
major project to smarten up part of Burnham-On-Sea's seafront
has begun. Scaffolding has gone up along part of the terrace of
Esplanade homes near the pier so that work to paint them can get
underway.
Although
the
homes are privately owned, some of the work is being partially
funded by a regional development grant alongside contributions
from the home owners so that the work can go ahead as quickly
as possible and to a standard specification.
A
team from Sedgemoor District Council is overseeing the project
and says the work will last several weeks.
A
spokesman added that the work is aimed at "smartening up
the seafront and giving it a consistent look."
