Eight top awards for Burnham-On-Sea cafe
owner
A
Burnham-On-Sea cafe owner is celebrating after winning no fewer
than EIGHT awards at one of the West Country's most keenly contested
shows.
Joan
White and her daughter Sarah, who run Tickle Your Taste Buds in
the High Street, returned from the 2005 Royal Bath and West Show
with an armful of rosettes after impressing the judges in the
food competitions.
Their
haul includes three sought-after first place awards and five for
third places.
Joan's
roast carvery meals are renowned across Burnham and Somerset -
and this was recognised when her vegetrian roast swept away with
a first place in the mixed savoury vegetarian class.
"This
was our best ever performance at the Bath and West," said
Joan. "We've entered several years before but it's the first
time we've picked up rosettes for first places. We're delighted."
The
pair's two other first places came in the cake-making categories.
Their rosettes now take pride of place in the cafe's awards cabinet,
