Three Burnham-On-Sea couples celebrate 150
years of married life!
Corks
were popping when three married couples from Burnham-On-Sea and
Highbridge jointly celebrated their golden wedding anniversaries
at a special party to mark the occasion.
The
trio, who are all members of the Burnham Moose group, discovered
they were celebrating their 50th anniversaries in the same part
of 2005.
To
accommodate their wide circle of friends, they decided to hold
a joint celebration in Highbridge Community Hall.
Additionally,
they asked for cash donations in lieu of presents, the proceeds
have been handed over to the Burnham and Highbridge Stroke Club.
The
resulting £250 was handed over to the stroke club at a presentation
on Tuesday evening, December 20th.
Stroke
Club Chairman Alan Massingham said: "We are very grateful
for this generous donation, and the money will be put to good
use running the stroke club."
The
photo above shows the three couples; Pat and Ray Fletcher; Geoff
and Sheila Amesbury; and Les and Shelagh Fautley.
