welcoming and friendly Italian Restaurant, La Vela is situated
in the centre of Burnham-On-Sea.
La
Vela opened its doors in summer 2006 and has become extremely
popular both with locals and visitors alike. As soon as you enter
this bright and modern looking Italian restaurant you feel like
you have stepped into a piece of Italy.
The
restaurant has a cosy, warm atmosphere and larger groups can be
easily accommodated. There is an excellent menu which provides
a wide choice of pizzas, pasta dishes and salads, and presentation
is top rate.
 The
choice of deserts is equally tempting - ice creams, tiramisu,
and sundaes to name a few. To complement you meal there is an
good drinks menu too, including beers and wines.
One
of the restuarant's unique attractions is being able to enjoy
watch your pizza being cooked in front of you. Each pizza is freshly
prepared and baked in a traditional stone oven, pictured below
right.
Whether
you're looking for a quick bite or have the time to linger over
your meal, you will be made to feel very welcome by the friendly
staff. There is also the option of a takeaway. It is the perfect
place to celebrate any special occasion.
 The
staff are happy to recommend a dish if you are unable to make
a choice.
It
is advisable to book tables in advance, especially at weekends,
as the restaurant is often fully booked. Larger parties would
also be advised to book in advance.
La
Vela is conveniently situated in the centre of Burnham-On-Sea,
in Abingdon Street, next door to the Somerset and Dorset Pub.
It is within easy reach of the town's main car parks and High
Street.
