Brrrr-nham
shivers in sub-zero temperatures!

Sub-zero
temperatures left Burnham-On-Sea shivering on Thursday December
29th as the town got its first proper taste of winter.
Overnight,
temperatures in the town sank to their lowest of the year at -7°c.
And
even by lunchtime the thermometer had not risen above a teeth-chattering
-2°c.
A
bank of ice was left at the top of the tide line on Burnham-On-Sea
beach, pictured right, and pools of ice formed in many spots.
Elsewhere
in the town, Apex Leisure Park's lakes were frozen over - making
the going difficult for birds as they slipped and slided their
way across a thick layer of ice.
Police
warned motorists to drive with extra care along roads in the area.
And weather forecasters were predicting sleet
and snow for later in the day.
