Festive fundraising brings in cash for local groups and charities

Hundreds of pounds was raised for local groups and charities at a popular Christmas bazaar held in Burnham-On-Sea this week.

Burnham and District Lions Club members John Hodgson, Wyn Davies and Keith ConwayThe event, run by Burnham and District Lions Club, attracted crowds of visitors to the town's Methodist Church in College Street.

A wide variety of items were sold, including greetings cards and gifts, on more than a dozen stalls from local groups and charities including the Children's Hospice, Guide Dogs for the Blind, RNLI, Somerset Court and St Margaret's Hospice.

Organiser John Hodgson - pictured above with fellow organisers Wyn Davies and Keith Conway during the event - said it had been a great success and would likely become an annual event in the Lions Club's calendar.
