The Parish Council are seeking to appoint a Clerk/Responsible Financial Officer.

This is a part-time post for 24 hours a month, which includes the Parish Council meeting in the evening of the first Monday of the month. We are a busy coastal Parish which attracts large numbers of visitors in the summer season. As a self-financing Parish, we do not claim a precept.

The successful candidate will be expected to handle the formal minutes, agendas, and correspondence of the Council. As RFO, they will prepare accounts using Sage Instant Accounts, and will be responsible for monthly salaries using Sage Instant Payroll. The Clerk/RFO works from their own home using a laptop and printer provided by the Parish.

We are looking for a person with strong communication skills, attention to detail and the ability to advise the Council as required. Financial experience and/or experience of local government is preferred, and training can be provided for a suitable candidate. Starting salary is dependent on qualifications and experience.

.VOLUNTEER SALES ASSISTANTS/ FUNDRAISERS

Volunteer Sales Assistants would assist in the daily running of shop in Burnham-On-Sea which would include replenishment of stock and merchandising, and till. Suitable volunteers do not need experience as training will be given. Ideally a morning or afternoon a week, the shop is open 7 days a week and therefore days could be found to suit applicants.

Volunteer Fundraising staff would help with various campaigns throughout the year, which could include Ride for Ryder, Christmas fundraising, volunteer campaigns, stock generation campaigns and fundraising in general. This position is very flexible and could be carried out at home subject to approval. Training and guidance will be given and would work closely with shop manager. This would suit and enthusiastic, organised person.
