Volunteer
awards handed to dedicated Burnham gym club leaders
Two
leaders of a Burnham-On-Sea gymnastics club have this week been
presented with awards to mark their commitment to the group.
Bristol Rugby Club player Lee Robinson presented a special award
to Monarch's
Gymnastics Club's
coach
Tony
Merrett, who has been involved with the group for over 20 years.
He
was praised for his "outstanding contribution to school and
community gymnastics."
He
told Burnham-On-Sea.com afterwards that he had no idea he was
going to receive the award and was "honoured and delighted
" to get it.
Simon
Lewis, pictured left, also picked up a volunteer award for his
services to the club, having helping the club for the last four
years.
Tony
praised him, saying: "He's done so well and fully deserves
this, having shown such commitment to the group."
Two
younger club members - Sean McKenna and Jessica Titcombe - also
received awards during the presentation at King Alfred Sport Centre
for being the best male and female members of the year.
