Three
arrested during Burnham-On-Sea car crime crackdown
Three
people have been arrested during a car crime crackdown in Burnham-On-Sea
this week.
Sgt
Julian Brandon of Burnham Police said five vehicles had been taken
off the road during the 'Operation Relentless' initiative.
"One
person was held and his vehicle seized in connection with the
theft of tools from a van; another offender was arrested and disqualified
from driving, and a third person was held for failing to appear
in court following a warrant," Sgt Brandon told Burnham-On-Sea.com.
A
white van is pictured here in Marine Drive being inspected by
Burnham police before it was removed.
"The
five vehicles we took off the road had a number of defects, including
missing exhaust systems, faulty brakes and over-tinted windows."
Car
crime prevention advice was given to motorists at the Somerfield
car park in Pier Street and at Brean and Berrow's beach car parks.
